Your political compass

Are you economically leftist or rightist? Are you more inclined towards authoritarian or libertarian?

Hello everyone. Remember 2020? Pandemic year? Everyone was locked down in their homes and absolutely nothing was happening except for the virus wreaking havoc?

That was when I stumbled upon a website, courtesy of one of my Twitter followers, who is long gone now. I mean he has deleted his account and isn’t around anymore. On the website, named The Political Compass, people can take a 6-round test, to determine their political stand. Now I will be honest, I took the test only out of curiosity and without any purpose to know where my political compass points to. However, after taking the test, it was clear what I thought of my political stand wasn’t very correct. It was the complete opposite of it.

I always thought of myself until I took the test as a right-wing supporter or someone who believes and agrees with the right side of politics. However, this is what came out of the test which I gave in 2020.

I was almost three square blocks to the left and two square blocks to the south towards libertarian. I didn’t expect these results. Thought I should have been placed somewhere around the top right square. And here are my 2022 results.

Nothing much changed, I just moved one square block closer to the right.

I didn’t find it too odd this time around. The issue is that sometimes I wonder if I am the same guy who took the test because many a time there are scenarios where I know this is not where I stand. The test should not be given thinking a lot, it should be a natural continuous process. But I believe at points it is not which is why sometimes I can feel there are disagreements between where I stand on that chart and where I do in the real world.

You should take the test, and see if you are also in a situation I caught myself in, or if you feel satisfied with where you stand on the chart.
